The normal follower is the standard follower in the game Carcassonne and its extensions. During a player's turn, the follower can be placed onto the tile they have just played, so long as the feature does not already have a follower.

A player gets their follower back when it scores points.

FunctionsEdit

Depending on the type of tile that the follower is placed into, the follower's name and functions can vary.

ThiefEdit

The thief is a follower that has been placed upright upon a road. When the road is completed or the game ends, the player with most followers on the road gains a point per tile in the road.

MonkEdit

The monk is a follower that has been placed upright in a cloister. When the game ends or the cloister is completely surrounded on all eight sides, the player with the follower on the cloister gains one point for the cloister and an additional point for each adjacent tile.

KnightEdit

The knight is a follower placed standing in a city. When the city is complete the player with most followers in the city gains two points for each tile and two points for each pennant in the city. When the game ends, the player with most followers in each uncompleted gain one point for each tile and one point for each pennant in the city.

FarmerEdit

The farmer is a follower placed lying down in a field. The farm is considered to extend from that farmer across all tiles directly connected to it by fields, with roads and cities ending the field. When the game ends, the player with most followers in each farm gain three points for each completed city touching the farm.
